About this book

Introduction

According to the world’s experts in virology and epidemiology, the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic is likely to be with us for several decades. The disruptions caused by the pandemic have forced every country to develop new and ingenious ways of serving our human needs. This book proposes that we can no longer use elections and various provisions of the national constitution of 1992 as a basis for governance and the selection of our leaders.

In contrast, the author presents a practical and feasible alternative that would be most suitable for Ghana and, indeed, for all countries within the Sub-Saharan region. As the reader will discover, the suggested framework is modern but inspired by centuries of pre-colonial indigenous systems of African democracy; a method based on collaboration in all matters related to governance.
